Torque Multiplier Calibration
Torque multipliers are exactly what the name suggests – they multiply the input from a torque wrench to give a much greater output. Where the application requires a torque greater than the torque wrench of the user, a multiplier can be used to gain a much larger final output torque for the job at hand.
Multipliers come in various output sizes and ratios however it may be necessary to check the input to output ratio to determine if there are any losses within the gearbox. The better quality multipliers will normally stay within their stated tolerances but some brands vary dramatically from their stated outputs and ratios.
